SangsLegal News It is mandatory for all States/Union Territories (UTs) to officially notify the designation of 'District Officers' Under POSH Act :Supreme Court


The Supreme court recently held that the the States and Union Territories are required to designate a "District Officer" in accordance with Section 5 of the The Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) .The Court interpreted Section 5's statement that the appropriate Government may designate a District Magistrate,Additional District Magistrate, the Collector, or Deputy Collector as a District Officer as a requirement and they shall be responsible for overseeing the implementation and enforcement of the POSH Act at the district level.
