 The Supreme Court observed that claimants are not required to lodge an application for compensation under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act to the MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) within the area where the incident took place. Instead, claimants have the option of reaching out to the MACT within their local jurisdiction where they reside or run a business or where the defendant resides.
