          In a significant decision, the Supreme Court recently provided relief to a party whose cheque dishonour complaint had been rejected at the final hearing by a Magistrate, citing lack of territorial jurisdiction. The Supreme Court invoked its unique powers under Article 142 of the Constitution, to transfer the case to a suitable Court. This decision came after it was acknowledged that the party hadn't been provided with adequate legal support.
